IN YOUR TWENTIES

Make sure to care for your skin while you are out conquering the world. Wash your face twice daily and use a facial sunscreen daily, not forgetting to apply it to your neck and hands as well.

  • Moisturizer — Neutragena Hydraboost Gel Cream

IN YOUR THIRTIES

Life is likely full of responsibilities, but you need to make yourself a priority. Consider starting Botox at this time. It is much more effective as a preventative for wrinkles than to try and fix them later. Also, invest in a skincare regimen. It does not have to be expensive to be effective.

  • Eye Cream — SkinMedica Uplifting Eye Serum

IN YOUR FORTIES

You are hitting your stride personally and professionally. Now it is time to work on fixing the damage that has been done in the past to your skin as well as prevent problems in the future. Consider adding microdermabrasion, chemical peels or dermaplaning to your skincare. It may also be time to consider filler to the lower face for early lines around the mouth.

  • Face wash — AHA/BHA Exfoliating Facial Cleanser, alternating with Elta MD Foaming Facial Cleanser
  • Antiaging — TNS Recovery Complex AM and PM
  • Minimize wrinkles — Uplifting Eye Serum, HA5 to face AM and PM, a retinoid PM
  • Protection — Lumivive AM and PM
  • Sunscreen — Coola Mineral BB Cream or SkinMedica Total Defense
  • Lighten brown spots — HQRA, alternating with Lytera
  • Eye Cream — SkinMedica Uplifting Eye Serum

IN YOUR FIFTIES

The kids are growing up and sort of out of the house. Time to focus on yourself and your skincare. If deeper lines are present on the skin, it may be time to look at doing some resurfacing to the skin. This can be done with laser or chemical peels. In addition, filler to the mid-face can help with normal loss of fullness that affects women and men at this age. Due to some dryness, it may be time to look at moisturizing cleansers and creams.

  • Face wash — AHA/BHA Exfoliating Facial Cleanser, alternating with a hydrating cleanser
  • Antiaging — TNS Recovery Complex AM and PM
  • Minimize wrinkles — HA5 to face AM and PM, a retinoid PM

IN YOUR SIXTIES, SEVENTIES AND BEYOND

Whether you have a done a great job at skincare over the years, or are just now thinking about it, you will benefit from taking care of your skin the best you can from here on out. Treatments like microdermabrasion, chemical peels and photodynamic light therapy can treat precancers and help repair sun damage.
